Jesus Christ Superstar's enduring 1970s rock score was initially issued as a concept album and hit the stage in 1971 at the Mark Hellinger Theatre. It has since become a massive hit, running for more than eight years in London. With over 3,358 performances by the time it closed, it was considered the longest-running musical in West End history at the time.
Originally premiering at London's Regent's Park Open Air Theatre, the spectacle features music and lyrics by Emmy, Grammy, Oscar, and Tony winners Tim Rice and Andrew Lloyd Webber. Renowned producer Timothy Sheader is the show's director, while celebrated choreographer Drew McOnie is the ensemble's choreographer.
