Shen Yun Performing Arts at Belk Theater

Shen Yun — today's unrivaled cultural dance organization — has announced this season's timetable of shows throughout several of the country's most esteemed stadiums, including the Belk Theatre at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center on Wednesday 16th April 2025!

Before the age of Communism, FIVE THOUSAND years of arts, legends, and culture thrived in each curve of the Chinese mainland, and year in and year out, the New York-based Shen Yun revives these perennial treasures for all to admire! 2025 is no exception.

Heavenly beings walking across the earth. Sprawling steppes swept by hordes of Mongolian nomads. And battleground valor of lionhearted soldiers. Shen Yun’s annual exhibitions explore the many legends and epics that spanned the nation's empires, artistically illustrating their romances and tragedies with aspects from Taoist and Buddhist creeds to round up each story.

The forthcoming presentation will exhibit twenty narrative segments of otherworldly performances in roughly 2 hours. Expertly instructed dancers trimmed in charmingly decorated garb will take to the floor, narrating the event’s tales through 17 to 18 complex folk dance sequences. Additionally, 2 or 3 vocal and instrumental solos will accentuate these chapters with soaring melodies — both original and traditional.

A full-piece orchestral ensemble will play sweeping music throughout the event, seamlessly incorporating Chinese and Western instrumentation. In terms of stagecraft, Shen Yun employs a state-of-the-art digital backdrop to render immersive scenarios, pulling viewers into the world of ancient Chinese civilizations in a jaw-dropping fashion.

During the tour’s stop in Charlotte, North Carolina, the world-class Belk Theatre at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center will open as host. Its gorgeous stage, favored by dozens of the past century's greatest acts, will present the base for the impressive event, enhancing it further with splendid sights, pristine light setups, and pitch-perfect acoustics.
