Shen Yun Performing Arts at Belk Theater

Shen Yun — the globe's ultimate cultural dance institution — has announced this season's calendar of shows connecting several of the United States' most distinguished venues, including the Belk Theatre at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center on Tuesday 15th April 2025!

Long before the period of Communist reign, FIVE THOUSAND years of arts, legends, and culture flourished in each curve of the Chinese mainland, and year in and year out, the New York City-founded Shen Yun brings these timeless treasures back to life for everyone to admire! 2025 is no exception.

Heavenly beings walking across the earth. Sprawling fields of grass swept by nomadic hordes of Mongols. And the wartime valor of dauntless warriors. Shen Yun’s seasonal shows explore the countless legends and parables that crossed Chinese dynasties, creatively illustrating their tragedies and romances with teachings from Buddhist and Taoist beliefs to polish each tale.

The forthcoming presentation will feature 20 narrative sections of unbelievable performances in roughly two hours. Expertly instructed dancers dressed in delightfully colorful costumes will flutter through the floor, chronicling the show’s stories through 17 or 18 intricate folk dance routines. Additionally, 2 to 3 vocal and instrumental solos will punctuate these phases with soaring symphonies — traditional and original alike.

A live orchestral ensemble will perform rousing music throughout the event, innovatively combining Western and Chinese instruments. In terms of staging, Shen Yun makes use of a state-of-the-art digital background to display immersive scenarios, pulling viewers into the realm of ancient China in a jaw-dropping fashion.

For the tour’s stop in North Carolina's city of Charlotte, the world-class Belk Theatre at Blumenthal Performing Arts Center will open as host. Its gorgeous stage, graced by several of the past decades’ greatest acts, will set the base for the epic event, further elevating it with stellar vantage points, immaculate lighting, and perfectly balanced sound systems.
